Miss Horror Story #2 and ONE WEEK!
Horror story # 2:
{refer to horror story # 1, if you are confused about this sequence.}
I want to first of all say that this story lacks A LOT of empathy. And sympathy, as well...
We filled out a "application" [which we thought was a contract] for an apartment almost 2 months ago. The apartment was going to be great and I hadn't stopped envisioning it since that day. About 3 weeks about, we find out that it was just an application, not a contract. I freaked basically. About every other day since then, I've been in tears about this apartment, trying to get a hold of this guy. I left it up to Nephi and he did everything he could but this was one of the WORST services I have ever worked with.
We would call him, and he would email maybe 3-4 days later with a response, but never fully answering our questions. He asked for basically all our personal financial information, and we got it to him the same day, but still took him FOREVER to get back to us. Even with us basically pleading for some sort of answer, because we were getting married in 3 weeks...nothing. I sent him my resume, a separate application with my information only and I even informed him of my full-ride scholarship next semester. Still, we were a *risk to them. Maybe because my parents aren't paying my rent? ( currently, sarcasm is dripping from my lips.) Finally, one day, after getting out of the temple, Nephi told me he called asking for our financial aid information and I LOST IT! I balled and balled and felt so hopeless. I don't get it. This guy is r i d i c u l o u s. I felt like no one involved was helping us or even cared. So, we decided to look for places on our own. And we did.
Nephi saw a place last week and on Saturday I went and checked out 2 places. It was fun actually. One thing that all these places had in common was, great management. They are a little more expensive (not by much) but their managers are really on top of things. We ended up really interested in this cute basement apartment.
We gave them our application on Sunday night and by Monday afternoon we had talked to the manager and she sent over a lease. We filled it out, sent it back and all we have to do is put down the deposit and we are good to go!
Lesson Learned. I am DONE with unreliable people and BAD service. You missed out dang renters. We are awesome.
I am SO excited. Really. I already feel like it's our home and I get so excited to think that is is going to be Nephi and I's first place together.
*They told us that we were a risk because we don't have "renting experience"...uh, excuse me, but, seriously. I definately had a mouth full to say after I heard that! Good thing Nephi talked to them, not me.
In ONE week, I get to marry this cute boy...
...not for long ;)

Miss First Wedding Gift
Last Friday, I came home from work and had a giant Bed Bath and Beyond box on my bed. What a surprise! I was so excited. I wanted to open it right away, but, I had to wait for Nephi to come over.
Nephi and I had a great time registering at Bed Bath and Beyond. I made an appointment (I know, who does this? I do. We tried 2 other times to register there but it was crazy busy. So, I made an appointment and I am so glad I did. Remember they are in the service industry. aka: serve-US.) We met with the associate, a girl named Jess, and she was GREAT help! I have to admit, at first, I was a litte worried because she was staying with us and kept the gun in her hand. (Uh, hello, that gun is the only reason why Nephi and I wanted to register in the store instead of online!) After a few minutes, I asked her if she was going to stay with us the whole time and she said yes but said she could leave if we wanted her to. I didn't want to say yes, of course, and I am SO glad I didn't! She was amazing. She gave us the greatest tips, advice, product information, and laughs.
Okay, here is what we got for our first gift...

Thank YOU, Jess!
We registered for 160 items, which isn't a lot. But, I feel like if we get everything on our list, and then a few gift cards, we will be so unbelievably happy. Okay, here is what we got for our first gift...
(I look kind of pregnant here. Don't worry, it was just my shirt!)
(Yeah, I know, I need to dye my hair. Badly.)
Yay for a Crockpot! I am so excited!

Miss Invitations
I was slightly hesitant to post this 'invitation' blog because I didn't want to ruin the surprise you will all be getting in the mail...however, most of you will be getting yours in a few days so here is a sneak peek!
Before I show you the pics, I should tell you this horror story...
I ordered my prints from...wait? Should I expose the company that screwed me over? Is it ethical? Absolutley I will expose them! Moving on..I ordered them from overnightprints.com. I thought it would be fairly legit and I got a great deal. I order 1000 matte oversized postcards with rounded edges and 1000 white envelopes. I even paid $20 extra for quick shipping so I could get it on Friday and work on them over the weekend. Friday comes along and...no invites! I called overnightprints.com on Monday morning pretty upset but they refunded my shipping and said that it is arriving that day. I was fine with that and just excited to get them out.
Monday after work, Nephi and I went to my apt. to find a big & heavy white box full of...only invitations. NO envelopes. I couldn't have killed a grown man. I was so mad! Good thing Nephi knows me so well. He took me out to dinner and then we went shopping and he bought me this super cute outfit! (Cream skirt with a gold silk top.) Such a cute boy. Anyway--needless to say, I freaked, was put on hold for 25 min, yelled a little, cried a little and went to Artco in Rexburg and bought big cream cute envelopes.

Here are some pics!
Our night started off like this. Our favorite bread bowls from a little deli place here in Rexburg.
(Getting them to-go turned out to be a complete mess for my cheddar and broccoli soup.)

I ordered 1000 invites because we had over 500 invites and the dang company wouldn't let me order 700! Oh well. Everyone is getting one. :) |

Here is the sealing invite! I just took the design that my friend Bridgette designed and designed this one on my own! I printed it up on card stock and then rounded the corners myself. |
~
COMPLETED! Only took us 3-4 hours to stuff 600 envelopes.
All ready to go to the post office!

Miss Engaged!
On Monday we had our engagement pictures taken in Park City, Utah. It was cold and a little snowy but we survived with the help of Josh and Emmy Jones. They are family friends of ours and I am so glad we had them take our pictures! Emmy is the master behind the camera and Josh serves as the 'un-offical' choreographer. We had a BLAST.

Miss Pictures
Nephi and I are getting our engagement pictures done on the 20th in Utah. My mom sent us this to help us get ready for them. I love you Mom. You are so cute.

I am kind of getting anxious about it. Honestly, I have been planning my engagement picture outfits longer than my ring but now that it is actually coming, I am drawing a blank! I need help.
Any advice? What should we wear? Should it be our wedding colors?
I am falling apart.

Miss Bling Bling

Cool story: Ever since about, high school, I have wanted a flattened diamond ring. (Now is know to call it a pave anniversary band.) I honestly haven't thought about it for a while until I started dating Nephi. When we started talking about marriage and eventually getting more serious about it besides the whole, "I can't wait till we get married (sigh)," kind of phase and more into the, "We are getting married and we need a ring," kind of phase, I finally started thinking about my ring.
We went ring shopping a few times in Rexburg and found a few that I liked but nothing that I loved and couldn't live without. We went home to Arizona and knew we HAD to buy the ring then. So, we went to Jared's and found it! I loved it and I knew it was the one. The price wasn't awful and we could even purchase "insurance" on the ring that would include: cleanings, diamond replacements, sizing, etc, for life! I was pretty convinced. HOWEVER, the our sale'lady' was really annoying. She kept trying to convince us to open an account with them, even though we said we didn't want to buy that day. We were annoyed.
Our friends told us that we should check out the Shane Co. before we leave Arizona. The Friday before we left, we went. My parents newer rings are from there and they are beautiful so I knew we would see a great selection. WE DID! At first I was discouraged because their bands were still too 'skinny' and not bling enough but she felt like she had seen the design I want in their company in the past. She checked online and found it. Then checked if they had it in stock in their store in Scottsdale, and found it. But, it wasn't out on display. She went into the back room and it turns out that they were just cleaning it to put on display. Just our LUCK!
Nephi bought it and we picked it up the next day, all sized and ready to go! What a relief. I love it and I thank Nephi almost every day for it. It is like our first child. We can't stop looking at it. :) Now all I need is a ring for Nephi...

Miss Buttons
I made a new button for our wedding website! It is located on the right sidebar above the followers app. Click on it and it will go to the site.
The reason we decided to do our wedding website is because we are being a little innovative with our invitations...
More information to come. It's going to be good.

Miss Dress Mess
I completely agree with the following cartoon...

If you haven't guessed yet, I am having a hard time finding a dress. Actually, it's not that I am having a hard time 'finding' one, I am just struggling to choose. I am buying my dress online, (Instert audience 'gasp' here). Don't worry about me. I have got it alllll under control. Right?
I have tried on a total of 25 dresses (approximately). This was suppose to help me decide on the style that will look best with my body type. It has. But there is still room for error.
New Goal: Leave the smallest margin for error possible in finding and purchasing a dress.
